Wrexham Lager was popular in Britain about 100 years ago as it was the only lager on the titanic and it was all so exported across the world. Carlsberg bought the company in the late 90s and eventually shut the brewery down and moved it to Leeds. Where it was brewed up until 2002 and then finally ended. Then in 2010 local business men from Wrexham bought back the rights of the old logo and established a new logo as well as sourcing the original recipe of the lager. They then set up a brewery which has gone from strength to strength and all their brewing equipment is imported from Germany. Which is good considering it was originally two Germans that set up Wrexham lager in 1881

Hopefully it's a success, and they can expand the brewery in the town so it's a proper landmark like it was before Carlberg killed it off in 2000. I used to love coming home on the train and trundling past the steaming behemoth as the whiff of hops entered your carriage. Duw, those were the days, la!

I remember going past the Wrexham Lager factory everyday as a kid. The place was huge and it’s shame it got knocked down for a retail area. Glad to see the drink has kept on.

Guys, guys. Don't use vertical lettering on beer bottles or cans. It's proven among marketing companies to alienate beer lovers. It's no an energy drink. People who live in UK can comment on, how they felt if they saw unknown brand like this among others in the pub or in the shops.

Used to drink Wrexham lager back in the 80s when I was a teenager down at the turf. Crazy to think these guys now own it . I’ll have to get some and see if it tastes of memories.

Christ back when I was 16 in 2000 £18 would get you through an entire night out and a kebab, my lad and his mates spend £100+ for a night out now which is insane. Good job he doesn’t smoke that’s up £20 now, I used to get a pack from the pub or club for £1.50 back then.
