Have you seen the video of Ryan watching and listening to the tribute song "Canada Loves You Back" written and performed by Steven Page (formerly the lead singer, guitarist, and the primary songwriter of the great Canadian group Barenaked Ladies.). It's a really sweet video and Steven talks about Ryan's kindness and his generosity to many individuals and organizations across our great country. The video also includes many of the people who have received help because of Ryan's support, this includes children who have been, or still are, in one of Canada's Children's Hospitals, and the doctors and nurses ect who care for them. I recommend it, it's not only sweet, it's also funny, as Steven Page has a sharp wit that is truly Canadian in nature. I'm going to go and watch it again because I've not seen it for awhile. And it's true, Canada does love Ryan back, how could we not? ✌️🇨🇦

This doesn’t even ring hollow at all when you think about say Deadpool 2, a movie that really underneath all the raunchy comedy is asking ”how do I deal with the death of the person I love?” and it comes to a similar conclusion that this brave man did: you turn and you live for the rest of your family. That’s what Deadpool is all about, it’s not just his powers that allow him to heal from literally any amount of damage and pain, it’s also this emotional, interpersonal thing. Deadpool’s mission statement is: You can come back from ANYTHING.

That's a good way to see life and death imo, I like this guy's outlook on it. He said near the mid-way point of the video that he knows one day he will be reunited with his son after he dies, it's just not right now, and that's how he's made peace with death. Thinking of death as a long time before you can see someone you love again instead of a permanent loss is probably a lot better of a stress-reliever than telling yourself their gone forever, we truly don't know and for all we know in the afterlife he will one day be reunited with his son. Good on him, good on Ryan Reynolds!

To have a film that I was so anxiously anticipating coincide with the death of my mom was bittersweet. Nothing is as devastating as losing a loved one, especially a parent or a child. Deadpool, albeit an anti-hero, is still a character who fervently fights for those he loves and cares deeply about, and in my eyes that makes him just as much of a hero as any of the Avengers.
