Actually, it was Hugh's idea--he was the one who called Ryan! No joke, watched an interview this week. Hugh felt like he missed the character, and maybe he had one more go in him. So he called Ryan who was blown away and, of course, IMMEDIATELY said yes. And here we are, because of the magic of Hugh The Greatest Showman Jackman. Give the man a medal!

What I love about Ryan's performance as Deadpool is that he can perfectly show emotions in that mask just through his voice work. When he is calm and joking, you feel that. When he's angry or desperate, you feel it also. That's why he is perfect for that role. Ryan Reynolds was born to be Deadpool.

Its reverse of what MCU usually does. MCU presents serious stakes but cheapens moments with out of place jokes, Deadpool is a character all about comedy but faces the audience with earnesty when its time to be serious.

He wanted to be Deadpool since the early 00s, basically playing him in blade 3, then finally got to play him..but it was a crappy version in Origins..THEN got to make it but had to leak the trailer to get it green lit, referencing Hugh in the first scene haha. And here we are years later getting them together at last, on TOP of wolverine wearing his actual outfit for the first time in 10 movies and 20 years. Lot of build up for this one, and actually looks like good writing which has been inconsistent for years

I grew up watching all the Fox and Sony Marvel movies. Right around the time the MCU began was when I started growing out of superhero movies. Even though the pre MCU Marvel movies are mostly considered a joke, I still have a very special place in my heart for them. So it was really nice to see those characters again and see them get a proper send-off! It was really special! I'm really grateful that for the first Disney Fox Marvel movie, they made more of an old-school Fox Marvel movie with MCU refrences rather than a straight up MCU movie with the Fox Marvel characters.

I lost my mind over seeing DAFNE KEEN in this trailer and her cameo was always the first speculation and prediction in a long list of them. I can't even fathom to what levels they're going to explode my brain with all the awesome things we don't know. But man does Dafne looks epic or what, she's grown into a brilliant young woman over these last 7-8 years. Melts my heart. To be honest, for me this movie would have never ever felt complete or made sense if she wasn't in it in atleast some regard. LFG!!!!!!!!!

I got out of the cinema about an hour ago and i have one problem with this movie. That problem is that the second i walked out of the room I was 'Oh, I can't wait to watch it again!'. This movie is absolute history and absolute delight to Marvel, Deadpool and Wolverine fans. You guys are the absolute best! The jokes, the cameos, the interaction between you two was out of this world. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it happen and I can't wait to watch it again. I'm sure fans would want to see you as Deadpool and Hugh as Wolverine 'till you're 90' ;). Thank you again and best of luck in everything! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!

Then, the studio wanted it to be Dougray Scott instead but because he had an injury, that they fully went with Hugh. And now, everyone don't want another Wolverine but Hugh. I love this line. EDIT: Dougray Scott couldn't do it because of Mission Impossible: II.

Going from how terribly Deadpool was handled in Origins: Wolverine to how great the first Deadpool movie was and how Ryan Reynolds acknowledged it and did right by the fans and has treated this character with so much passion is my favorite storyline of all.

if DP in Wolverine Origins was handled better or played by another actor, then I doubt we'd have gotten stand alone DP movies. so in that regard, Origins did well.

WHAT A RIDE from the self-made promotional film, to the Internet "leak," to the fam demand, to Ryan Reynolds' grit & determination to get this right, THAT is my favourite storyline. Deadpool is the greatest film ever made for a fan base because we asked for it!

Being a super hero really is a thankless job when you think about it. Like imagine saving a city from a cosmic threat, only to get shit on for not "minimizing collateral damage".

@@TabathaTMartin all about perspective really. for the heroes they've saved the city, sure, but to the every day person their house is destroyed, family members may be dead and even their life has basically been reset, but on hard mode. then there's the heroes just always smiling lol. hard pill to swallow when all it has written on it is "you didn't die"

Also, Deadpool can break the 4th wall. He might be referring to our world where Wolverine is the most popular and loved X-Man.
