The shaker has ice in it so they shake it to dilute it before it goes into the glass. That also has ice.... tbh its just to much ice

@@MrFixcon drinks that don't have fruit juice are generally stirred, not shaken. (shaking does several things other than just diluting, including adding air bubbles to drinks for texture. ice whips and breaks up the sugars in the fruit juice for a frothy texture). Negronis don't have fruit juice and thus, don't have to be shaken. They'll still get cold and diluted from stirring!

While I agree with you that a Negroni should not be shaken, there are plenty of cocktails that don't contain juice and still need to be shaken. A better rule of thumb: if the final drink is clear (I'm not talking about color), stir it. If it's cloudy, shake it. You'll want to shake juice, yes, but also egg, honey, and cream. Anything more than spirits, bitters, and sugar, and you're probably shaking.
